My 72 C10 Longbox, need to buy a Chevy Emblem
Hello Folks, 1st post here. Love this forum, can't wait to dig into it deeper. I got stuck on the long box thread for a few days.
I just bought this 72 C10. It has a 350 with 350 transmission. Runs great and sounds really good. Older restoration but still in pretty good shape. I plan on driving it everyday. My question is....what kind of Chevy emblem can I put on the front of this thing? I can't find a way to attach an aftermarket one I bought so I sent it back. Any help would be great. |

Most of the time people don't install an emblem with a billet grill like you have. Suggest you try either a 71-72 as would be stock or a 67-68 (red) grill emblem. Either way you are gong to have to fab a backing plate to clamp the emblem to the grill bars.

Good lookin' truck you got there. That "fishing reel" light you got under the hood sure is handy ain't it. Welcome to a darn good forum.

If you feel leaving it alone wont do, I would see if soneone could fab up a metal bowtie and some way to attach it. As long as it was a similar size to stock i am sure it would look ok. The grille is far from stock anyway, would fit the theme

If you want a bowtie put the stock grille insert back. These trucks came with good looking grilles from the factory. Nice truck by the way Enjoy

Or you could get a '69/'70 Bowtie and drill 2 holes and mount it on the front of the hood.

The factory type emblem does have studs coming off the back. You might could use a emblem [factory type] and use machine washers [They have a very large diameter of surface area]to bolt the emblem to the aftermarket grill or if nothing else take a piece of sheet metal the same size [roughly] as the emblem and drill a couple holes in it as a backer then bolt that puppy on there. I think it will look really good one done. Oh, by the way welcome to the site. Jim
