Convert to Electric Oil Pressure Gauge?

Tried some research (search button) but haven't seen anyone who has said what parts to use to convert the mechanical pressure gauge to electric.

Has it been done on a stock dash?

I would really like to make the conversion and was thinking the 80's gauge would probably work in the slot.

Thanks,
MOD

Thumbs up Re: Convert to Electric Oil Pressure Gauge?

You will have to run the gauge seperate from the rest of the gauges. Buy the sendor and pressure switch and run wires to the gauge.

The silver cylinder above brake booster is the pressure switch. This was in my old setup. Tubing from back of intake to switch then wired to gauge in the truck.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Convert to Electric Oil Pressure Gauge?

Factory electric setups were used in the B-Bodies of that era. You'd need an actual gauge that fit, but you could still use factory senders and so on. PM me for part numbers or whatever you might be missing.

Re: Convert to Electric Oil Pressure Gauge?

You can use the oil gauge from the square bodies, when they switched to electric. The plus side to that is you can modify the gauge to accept your original face, to retain the original look of the dash. That is going to be my next mod. Best of luck, whatever you choose.

Re: Convert to Electric Oil Pressure Gauge?

Thinking that I'm going to try to put a '78-up electric on the factory spot, I'll post it here to show the process...

Time for a parts search...

Thanks guys,

Re: Convert to Electric Oil Pressure Gauge?

Hi 69 Mod,
Seeing if you ever did this conversion and if so do you have any pics on how it turned out.

Thanks Brian
