Well, I hate to sell this because I know I will want it back as soon as it leaves here, but I need to make some more room in my bldg and currently do not have a project truck for this bed to go on at the moment....so, what this is is a 1965 Chevrolet custom cab bed I pulled off a 74K original miles truck that had a camper over the bed - never had a metal floor welded in thank God and the mounting flanges are nice and straight and prestine - even the front bed panel is good. The bed sides are very nice and straight and this truck had never been painted - factory butter yellow color. My neighbor is a professional welder by trade and he stud gunned out a small palm-sized dent on one of the bedsides and there was a small area toward the backside of the drivers fender where he made a metal match to fix some pinholes he found, and he straightened out a mashed spot 3" long or so on one of the wheel openings and sanded the whole bed to use on a project, and we ended up selling the truck so now its sanded, dents fixed and straight enough for any of you to work to paint yourselves, or pay a body shop a lot less to paint now that the metal imperfections are taken out of it. So, its 1000.00 firm and is located in Joppa AL 35087. I have a great guy named Robbie who runs every week right across Alabama and all the way to California and other states and he is as cheap on shipping as can be had - 500 to 700 to jut about anywhere to carry this bed to you. If you are serious about buying the bed and interested in Robbie bringing it to you send him a text to 704-380-7777 and include your full street address and tell him you are considering Steve's 64-66 pickup bed in Joppa Alabama and he will know which one you mean and where its at - he will run you an estimate for bringing it there.

PS #1 - There is no tailgate on this bed and I am not sure if I have all the cross sills, but before you pay me I will look and identify any cross sills that are missing.

PS #2 - about Trading - I have backslid quite a bit and really like the 55-59 era trucks so if you are a hoarder of any 55-59 parts and trucks and want to look at a trade, that is right up my alley - don't need any 60-66 parts. Got all that I can handle and then some

Please reply to this thread as being a serious buyer so others can be placed in line should your shipping quote prove to be too costly to buy it - mark your place in line in other words so I know who to go to next. Forgot to add - this bed had snaps attached to each bedside all the way down where at one time it must have had a snap on vinyl cover before the camper was added or something, so those holes are welded up as well. Holes for the factory custom mouldings are still open and in good shape.

Well, Maine is certainly a long haul, so even Robbie will have to charge more than usual to do it, but if you decide to go for it, contact him and see what he says....too bad my good friends from Millinocket just left here or they could have brought it to you! We go to Millinocket and stay at their lake house every other Summer and we love Maine. Been to Bar Harbor and Camden, all over the place....beautiful place to live (but a little chilly for us Southerners)

Back to trading - I said I didn't need any 60-66 parts which is true, but I would consider trading this bed for a real nice 60-62 GMC big window cab if anyone has one by chance. Gotta be a GMC cab, gotta be solid, gotta be big window, and gotta be pre-63. Now you know why I don't have one already
