71' C-10 vent window loose
Guys,
I'm normally hangin' out in the 60'-66' section, but I have a question about my son's 71' C10. Is it possible to tighten the nut on the bottom of the vent window assy. without removing the entire vent window? The reason I ask is because his LH vent window will blow partially closed while driving at highway speeds because of not enough spring tension to keep the vent window open. I noticed that there's a hole in the door, underneath the door panel, that allows some access to the bottom of the vent, but there appears to be a lock of some kind on the nut that's on the stud. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!

Here's a link for vent window disassembly and shows the nut lock.

Re: 71' C-10 vent window loose
I appreciate that link, John! That picture of the lower pivot is what I needed to see. Between that link and borrowing a 67'-72' assembly manual from my buddy Fred, a regular here, I think I can get a handle on this situation.
Thanks again for the help!! Posted via Mobile Device |
