corvette sawblades on squarebody
Questions about some wheels:
I'm planning on putting some corvette sawblades from an 86 on my 77 C10. I'm assuming they won't fit, but are wheel adapters a decent setup? And will this pose any other problems? Thanks Posted via Mobile Device |

Honestly i would just skip the rims unless your willing to change the bolt pattern of your truck.Cheapo wheel adapters will fail on you and the good ones are 100+ a set of 2 so your looking 200 bucks or more just for them. And the adapters will push your wheels out more then stock.I rather spend the money and buy rims that fit but thats just me.

Re: corvette sawblades on squarebody
I have been shopping for 'vette wheels for my Camaro. There is a reason those sawblade/salad shooters are always for sale cheap. They just look too weird. The 70's alloy wheels look much better imho.

How hard would it be to change my truck to 5x4.75?

Re: corvette sawblades on squarebody
with good adapters you should be ok, as long as you don't intend on using your pickup to haul/tow heavy loads.

Re: corvette sawblades on squarebody
These wheels are very popular with the VW brigade over here and command silly prices ! Even if the stud pattern was the same you'd need spacers as the backspace/offset is high on those. I ran a set of S197 rims on my old '83 F150 using adapters and had no problems but I shelled out on the best set I could find. Are the saw blades hubcentric? Just a thought.

Year Size Offset Backspacing
Corvette 84-87 16x9.5 38mm 6.6" I would say about a 2" adapter would be in play to get it about right. |
