Harness plug near booster

I believe the round harness connector by the booster is just for the front end lights? Is there a replacement source for the connector on the firewall? I may just eliminate it and run new wires through a grommet unless someone thinks there is a reason to keep that connector? My goal is to eliminate all the holes in the firewall by welding them up and run everything through as few holes as possible.

the connection is for the lights, which is the top portion. the bottom portion is for the engine electronics so removing it will cause you to find another location on the firewall to enter/exit your truck. i would say keep it!!!

At the vary least you will need a hole there for the blinker wires.

Re: Harness plug near booster

On the 61's, the top connector goes up to the hood for the turn lights and parking lamps. The bottom harness has the alternator (12+) and the headlights. Without looking at the diagram, I forget what was in the rest of that connector.

You very easily could delete both plugs and weld the holes and rerout the wires where they are not seen. On the hood connector, you could run this through the firewall into the small area of the wheel well and then out the outside of the wheel well, routing the wires along the hood hinge. Done well, You probably would hardly even see those wires...
