How much hate would I get if I ran newer 4.3 in my 63 gmc? I'm sure it's been done.. Would like to see pictures also if anyone has any

None from me. Honestly if you put a turbo on it you will get better mileage and be faster than any sbc and be more reliable...

None! I saw a 53 chevy with a 4.3 snd the guy said it was the best thing he could have done.

I've got 2 door blazer with one I drive everyday and I love it just wondering if it would be worth swapping one in or find a 350 or some other sbc to swap in to it

Just don't post it on the GMC sight.

Well if the V6 is already gone then it wouldn't matter anyway. lol But I wouldn't hate on it either. A turbo 4.3 would be pretty out of the ordinary.

Jolly's 6066 GMC sight. lol I'm on it with my 64 GMC "Crustine." Guys have almost booted people out of the sight for mentioning removing the v6 and putting a SBC in place of it. lol I can understand why as it sucks to see perfectly good engines go to the scrap yard.

Father-in-law had a 4.3 S10 Blazer he used to pull his 4.3 Seaswirl ski boat. It's a very nice motor.

I drive a 4.3 ltr AWD
almost everday and have had a number of 4.3 vortec's in the past yrs.
Have heard of AD conversion
and will be doing one in the future...
I'm a fan of the 4.3 and this is what motivates me and in my dreams

How would a 4.3 do in a 65 Suburban with a TH 350? Is it enough to pukl the weight around? I currently have a 283 in it.

Waiting on a Trailblazer straight 6 conversion, but 4.3 produce same hp as v8 of our stock trucks. I have had a Syclone at a light, took off before I let off clutch. So I would be all in on turbo awd. But 300hp 4.3 is a good driver. I myself am not afraid of finding a diesel guy upgrading his turbo and snagging it.

I've had three Astro vans with the 4.3. 89, 90 and IIRC an 06. First two had coolant leaks in the left rear cylinder. First ones with the TBI were pretty low on power but had good fuel economy. The Vortec with an extra 50 horses new how to drink gas. AWD though.

Mine was Non-efi 4.3 in my 70 hooked to T350. It did well. I did it because I had it and I have really good luck with 4.3's Not the fastest, but solid. A turbo will definitely make it run (you can use one from a F--d diesel)

Didn't have any pics of after it was running in truck.

I ran a 2.2 5 spd in my 65 and have a 47 and a 49 with the 4.3 4l60e.

4.8/5.3/6.0 are reliable swaps, as common as belly buttons and about as complicated to install now with all the bolt in plug it kits out there. doowhatchoolyke is my point. youre the one that has to drive it.
