WTB 63-66 Suburban Gas Tank

Looking for a super clean Suburban gas tank. If you have one. Please remove the sending unit inside and check for rust. If its clean inside and out I'm a buyer.

Re: WTB 63-66 Suburban Gas Tank

Jon, I might have an extra tank but I think it was out of a 61 burb. Is there a difference compared to 63-66? It kinda looks the same.

60-62 is wider than 63-66 (for wider frame rails), but both have the spare tire notch. That's for 2WD. 4WD is a whole other animal...

This is the tank from my '61 Chevy Panel. I believe it's an original factory tank.

Re: WTB 63-66 Suburban Gas Tank

Here are some photos of the 61 burban tank I have. Unfortunately it has a pinhole in it. If I end up parting out my 63 burban I will pull the tank and let you know. I am hoping to sell it complete though. Thanks Lyle

If your interested in the 63 send me your email and I will email photos this weekend. It is 90% rust free. I found a little rust where the windshield had leaked in the right hand knee knocker area. I cut a patch out of a parts cab for it. The rest is nice no rust in rockers, floors or quarters. It is a custom cab with trim , aluminum grille and stainless windshield trim. The previous owner started the project the body work is done on the body shell doors and such. Unfortunately he shaved the firewall and cut out the dash. I started to fit a 64-66 dash I have laying around loose but that is all I have done to it.

Yeah , that's not my kind of truck but I'm sure theres plenty of others who would want it Lyle. Member fitzhume1221 was looking for a 1963 Suburban for quite awhile.

Hi Jon,

Are you still looking for a gas tank? I have one from my 66 Suburban that I removed - put in an aluminum tank. I will go out and grab a few photos of it and post them if you're interested. Im in NYC/NJ area.

Re: WTB 63-66 Suburban Gas Tank

Hi,

Here the pics. I didn't see any signs of repairs or rust. I also have the tank strap and the gas filler neck I can toss in if you need them. It was recently painted - I but don't need it.
