4 speed shifter on a 3 speed

Can you adapt a 4 speed manual shifter to a 3 speed manual trans? I obviously understand it isn't optimal, but i"m curious if it's possible? The H pattern of the 4 speed is the same as the 3, just with the extra reverse. So is it feasible to adapt it/has anyone done it?
thanks

Why, when you can buy a Hurst Indy for the 3 speed?

Of course you can!!
Done it myself!
You might need new rods for it and make a bracket to adapt to your tranny.

Hurst indy is expensive, and I have a 4 speed sitting around so why not.
And it's good to hear that someone has done it! If i end up doing it, I'll make sure to include pics and a walkthrough
