Can ya post pictures of your factory stance, 2/2 drop, or 2/4 drop in SWB?
The build likely needs new rear leafs and front coils. I'm adding original upper and lower moldings (i.e., never had them), so everything needs to be tight.
There's an orange truck around here with a 2/2. I can't locate it, but nice stance. On topic, other than maybe shocks, are there any other alterations that need to occur with a 2/2 or 2/4 drop?

According to the PO, mine has a 2/4 drop. Here's what it looked like when I got it with the Blazer wheels and 255/15/60 tires:
I found some 16" Torq Thrust IIs I got on craigslist for cheap. I hate how small the 225/16/60 tires are but the wheels and tires were brand new, guy bought them for a Camaro and didn't realize the bolt pattern was wrong. I'm debating adding thicker rubber or going big with staggered 18" wheels instead. Regardless I'm going to go with a 4/6 drop at some point. |

2/4 drop according to the previous owner. The truck has 275/60/15 tires on 15" wheels, thinking of going up to 17" wheels to try and fill the fenders, not sure about what tire size to get though. My truck has coil springs on the rear end, so I can't comment on what the procedure would be for leaf springs. I haven't installed any shock relocators, but I might install a pair for the rear shocks to see if it makes a noticeable difference (drives fine at the moment). Front is lowered with drop spindles, so no need for special shocks or to relocate them. |

Re: Can ya post pictures of your factory stance, 2/2 drop, or 2/4 drop in SWB?
I'm planning on a 2/4 drop sometime in Sept. (depending on when the savings account gets there...)
Ours is a leaf-spring truck (although LWB) and I'm actually thinking about a 2/3 drop, since CPP offers a 3" drop set of springs. I don't want a "flat" stance, just a little up in the back. From what I can gather here (in the search box), leaf spring drops don't require a special shock relocation bracket (like coils do). The original top mount is a 'universal' design (same bracket fits R/H or L/H side) and thus has two sets of shock mount holes. Simply enlarge the second hole and fit a new top mount bolt (available at many parts stores)...done! Of course, it will require a shorter shock to fit the new height.

I have looked at the Early Classic leafs. CPP leaf set is about $30 less...probably from the same supplier. 6 of one, half-dozen of other. 2 or 2.5" drop spindles (disc) and OEM coils...already part of the plan. Thanks!

The "where are they made" is a concern for me. ECE couldn't tell me, but it sounds as if a "local" provider (i.e., USA). That said, where does the steel come from, China? Why would it matter?

Re: Can ya post pictures of your factory stance, 2/2 drop, or 2/4 drop in SWB?
Doesn't anyone have a factory stance anymore? Mine is below, but it's a poor example, due to the paint situation, bad bushings, and some sag in the leaf springs.
I may run with a 3.5/5.5" if I can locate the parts. ECE can provide the rear. They have the 2.5" drop spindles of course, just need to see if everything works with a 1" coil. Looking forward to researching tires and wheels someday. Of course that would mean it's done.
