Ok, I found a late 77 or so model 3/4 ton out of a junkyard with a front sway. I got everything from that truck the brackets and all. It is 1 and 1/16 thick. I am having problems getting it to fit on my 71 truck. I put new bushings in all 4 parts, all new bolts. My truck had the A frame holes all ready predrilled, but there wasnt any on the frame section. So How do I go about finding a place to mount the brackets Or do I need diff brackets. Does the front suspension need to be off the ground when installing it? I need some detailed pics if anyone can help, I am really stumped on this one. Thanks.

The frame holes should be there. One of the holes will need to have a rivet drilled out. The back swaybar frame bracket hole is also the front crossmember hole. You will need to drill out/chivel the rivet and use that hole. Look at the link JJR posted. If you didn't get the "U" shaped strap iron brackets at the yard (you have to cut or drill out the rivets) you can go to your local GM parts house and get PN 6271375. I think they were about $10 each.

OK, Ill get those rivets out, but when I install it do I need to have the front suspension on the ground or lifted, or does it matter? THanks.

it will be easier with the truck on the ground because there wont be any tension on the bar

Ok Thanks guys I got it installed, was a major pain to get those rivets out, but it was worth it. Handles alot better. Thanks again.
