Re: rubber floor mat for my 86
I never liked the fit of the factory vinyl flooring on my 76, and it had a lot of cracks at the bends, so I went with carpet from a local upholstery shop and covered it with Huskyliners and black exercise mat over the hump and sides of the floor under the seat. You can get a one piece Huskyliner to cover the hump if you don't have a floor shift (if they still make them.)
I would consider the 1/8" thick molded vinyl flooring from LMC or elsewhere. Maybe someone who bought it can post here and let us know how it worked out for them. I think the stock style vinyl flooring is too thin for everyday hard use. Even the 2000 Silverado work truck I bought new had what I considered ill fitting and thin factory vinyl flooring. Huskyliners (or Weather Tech) have the advantage of upturned edges which collect dirt and liquids and keep the carpet clean. |
