Lightbulb 67 Grill Ideas

Ok the grill on my 67 is probably going to be one of my next projects. However I do not want to go with the factory look. I want to keep the outer shell but want to do something to fill in the open space. I really like the way the billet grills look but I can't find one for a 67. Does anyone have any ideas or seen something that looks really trick. Post pics if you have them please. Thanks in advance.

Thumbs down

I think there was a 67/68 phantom grille used on one of those high-buck trailer queens but it still fell short of the original IMO. I think that's why you don't see them as an aftermarket item as it looks out of place on the 67/68. On a 71/72 grille it looks okay, maybe you should switch to that style?

But if you're hell-bent on destroying one of the finest looking grilles ever made (next to the GMC of course) you may want to go all out and graft one of these babies in. It'll achieve the uniqueness to which you aspire.

I'm don't think of it as destroying it, I just want to customize it. When I build something, I build it to stand out. I can't stand being like someone else.

Me too, that's why when I rebuild them I keep mine as close to stock as possible. Precious few are doing that! Something to think about.

FYI, I was just having a little fun with ya. But the Edsel grille WILL make it stand out.

You may want to find a 67/68 grille that has a damaged center bar since you'll be cutting it out. That way you'll have your original (assuming undamaged) to go back to or sell it for some $$. Just a thought.

Yea the Edsel grill would stand out but that is more different than I would like to be. I agee with you on getting another grill to try it on so that I still have the original.
Thanks
