Short Box

What should one pay for a rust free short box found in a salvage yard with out the tail gate? It is very nice and clean.

thx

Re: Short Box

A clean original box is hard to find ...especially a dual tank 79 and newer with dual fuel doors.
I am sure some will not agree ...but I would say 2000.00++

They have not made originals for 28 years

Re: Short Box

Is it just the box or the whole truck? I just bought a 76 short box truck that was running and driving with very little rust for $3000. I got the truck from a guy that got it from South Carolina.

Re: Short Box

Just the box, panels are straight, it has dual fuel doors and all the paint is intact.

Re: Short Box

Here in Tx, depending what salvage yard you go to, you can expect $200-$400. Retail would be about $600-$800 easy. Short beds for this years are starting to become scarce. So if you really need it, go ahead and grab it.
Just remember that the prices for original parts on this trucks will only continue to go up as time passes...
