Worried about control arm shaft torque

I put new poly bushings in. Installed the control arms and now I am torquing the shaft nuts. 115 upper & lower. Does that sound right? Pass side looked good. Driver side upper has me concerned. When I got them to 115, the nuts were hardly touching the bushings, I mean I could spin them around the shaft. What gives?

Re: Worried about control arm shaft torque

I could be wrong on this, but tighten the back nuts and then the front, then torque

Re: Worried about control arm shaft torque

I don't see how that would matter seeing how I have them mounted on the truck. I did not torque them while they were off. Maybe someone else will chim in.

Shaft nuts are 75 ft lbs.
Control arm bushings are 115 ft lbs
Lower control arm shaft u bolts 80 ft lbs
That is per GM Torque Specs.

Re: Worried about control arm shaft torque

I had to trim my poly bushings about 1/16'' to get the washers to touch the bushing when torqued down properly. Don't go to far or you will crush the bushing and clamp down on the arm.
