Project new navy
Bringing this home tomorrow. It's a 1948 with a S10 chassis conversion. I will be attempting a more modern version of an old navy truck

Re: Project new navy
I am putting this in it. It has a 350 with a 327 crank bored 40 over. It's a 333 with a 177 supercharger.it has 600 at the crank. I am putting a 700r4 behind it. Not sure how well the blower will clear the hood. I will not be using these headers

Re: Project new navy
Nice lookin truck and power plant. You can put about 10 pictures in each post. You don't have to do a new one each time. Should save you some time.

Re: Project new navy
Are those 350 heads or did some of the later 327's come with that type head? I'm used to seeing 265-327 with the earlier smooth heads with the powerpac or fuelie camel bumps.

Re: Project new navy
Yes. They are 350 heads.ported and polished. You probably know these blowers require a stock 8.5:1 compression ratio. So they are small port 1.88 and 1.60

Re: Project new navy
you will love the airbar rear with sleeves, hands down the best ride for the rear axle, better than even a double convoluted bag advantage setup on bar. and if you set your body mounts up right (frame a couple inches above running boards) it will lay running boards. I had a modified s10 airbar with sleeves on my 65 and it rode like a dream, my only advice is to use long travel shocks. oh and make sure to limit the bag travel, sleeves need shocks or something else to limit travel!

Re: Project new navy
Here is my next plan. 8 to 10 inch extenred doors. In need of more leg room because I need to set back the firewall 4 inches to put my blower motor in. While I am at it I am going to change the three window to a five window. I just have to find a boner cab and doors to get started.keeping the s10 chassis idea and still the short bed. Because right now my back frame rails stick out from the bed about 8 inches. I wiil have to set back my Alex 8 to 10 inches. Here's my rough idea. Excuse my third grade drawing skills
