Installing Bed on Frame on 86 SWB
I'm putting the bed on my 86 back on the frame and it doesn't feel like it fits correct, as if something is holding it up. I have it on the frame with all 8 bolts going down thru the frame but not tightened up. It seems to rock back and forth if I move it. If I push the left front corner down the right front corner comes up about 1". If I push the left rear corner down the right front corner comes up about 1". I have the bed up in the air and see no obstructions. The spring mountings are below the top of the frame. There is no pipe or anything I can see that would be hitting. For those of you that have done this before, would that be normal? I have it trailered around a little bit to the body shop and it got moved around there and might have gotten tweaked I'm sure when I put the nuts on it will pull the corners down, but was wondering what experience you folks have had. Thanks for any suggestions or comments. Larry

Fuel filler hoses aren't keeping it up are they?

The truck could be on an uneven surface , the frames on these trucks are about as flexible as a wet noodle .

It's on my pole barn concrete floor. Not sure how flexible the bed is. It has never been taking apart.

You must have something on top of the cross member between the front leaf spring hangers. The second bed brace has to sit flush on that cross member. That's my guess.
