Power Door lock/windows
Okay so I need to figure out what these wires go to before I can wire in some after market buttons and relays. Any help?

Re: Power Door lock/windows
Since those are aftermarket parts, you will have to get the aftermarket manufacturer to give you instructions, unless someone here has installed them and can help you out.

Re: Power Door lock/windows
Here is an example of a AC Delco OEM power window switch (PT254)
https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raf...rtnum=PT254&ck[ID]=0&ck[idlist]=0&ck[viewcurrency]=USD&ck[PHP_SESSION_ID]=7li2pl2d20g11ha5kajqo94404 You can find the AC Delco pigtail catalog online, enter male or female connector, and the number of cavaties or contacts and find a picture of your original connector to match it up. http://www.acdelcotechconnect.com/parts-catalog/wiring-sockets-pigtails-catalog/ I am not saying that your connectors won't work, they just don't look like ACD parts to me. You said that you are wiring aftermarket buttons and relays, so I would think that you would not want OEM connectors. |

Re: Power Door lock/windows
The colors look stock at least compare to the two power trucks I have owned you should be able to go off the factory wiring diagrams as long as pins are in correct location I can't say if plugs are factory or not though

Re: Power Door lock/windows
Those are factory GM style pigtails-the question is what kind of "aftermarket" switches you plan to run....without getting too complicated, it makes all difference knowing if you plan to run grounded switches or not. Post up a schematic of the aftermarket switches and I can tell you whether the GM style pigtails will work or not for you.

Re: Power Door lock/windows
Ok....so they are using the switches as ground triggers for the relays-that's basically what I do on the factory harnesses as an upgrade.
It will be much easier for you to build a completely new harness incorporating the aftermarket switches you want to run vs. re-wiring the OEM harness. You will also want to use a control relay for the entire system so power is off when the key is off. The diagram they provide is basic-there are a few safeguards you'd want to integrate if you're going that far with it anyway. |

Re: Power Door lock/windows
I should hope they supply dedicated terminal connector shells for their switches...?

Re: Power Door lock/windows
Yes they do but they are pretty pricey. But as for wiring in not sure as to what the output and input are on the picture in my OP. Is my output my normally open? And my input/ground my normally closed??

Re: Power Door lock/windows
I am confused. Do you have a truck with factory power windows and door locks or do you have a truck with manual windows and door locks? Are you trying to convert from manual to power, or replace existing power accessories?

Re: Power Door lock/windows
I already have power window and locks. Just replacing my switches with the keepitclean billet buttons for a nicer look. The tech team at keepitclean helped me out with the output/input and normally open/closed. But on the application diagram I posted earlier, it shows the hots running to the battery? Should I do that with an inline fuse or how should that work?

Also, what about the door lock relay? Will I have to re wire that as well? |

Re: Power Door lock/windows
To he honest here, the stock GM function is a good design and I just don't see the point of redesigning the setup for the sake of using aftermarket switches. In my opinion, you might be making more problems for yourself potentially in terms of longterm reliability.
