Painting '72 Grill Insert

I have a very nice OEM '72 grill insert. It is in great shape but the original silver finish has gotten dull over time

I am thinking of repainting it. Can anyone recommend a correct silver paint that comes in a rattle can? Any advice appreciated

Thanks!

Re: Painting '72 Grill Insert

SEM has a trim black, used for exterior trim pieces. It is supposed to hold up to UV light much better than other spray cans. I have sprayed my vent window frames with it, and it's held up for nearly 2 years now very well. Unfortunately my truck hasn't been exposed to much sunlight very often. The color is satin or very low gloss in sheen.

My point in telling you that is SEM may make something similar in a silver color.

I painted mine with argent silver, same thing I used on my rallye wheels. I think it looks original. Others here will know the "correct" color that was used.
