Detent cable bracket, Edelbrock manifold ??
I think I have read myself mad on all this 700r4 TCC cable adjustment. From TCI, PATC to Bowtie Overdrives. And with my searches here, I know more than the folks staying Holiday Express.
So my real question is which is the best bracket to use with my Edelbrock Performer intake manifold with a Edelbrock 1406 carb. sitting there looking pretty. I have the universal edelbrock bracket kit, I have used one in the past without much issue. Just thinking is there really something that much better ? I can make this kit, I have reach the desired distance required for proper cable adjustment at WOT. I have decided to go with a adjustable vacuum switch to turn the TCC on and off over the OEM switch and a toggle switch. I feel With a fresh engine And added HP it will need some minor changes over stock settings. Thanks Ken

I'd use the Edelbrock replacement brackets-they may not be real pretty but are similar to the GM ones and are anodized plated.

There not ugly any more, while I had stuff out to be powder coated. I had those brackets done in gloss black.

Re: Detent cable bracket, Edelbrock manifold ??
Nice-can't beat OEM GM design. On a 77 GMC I took a break from putting together, a lotnof the small parts I had blasted including the OEM throttle/kickdown bracket. I opted to black out the intake and motor but wanted to add spots of color that were original. At first my father in law didn't care for anything painted smog era blue but I won over. I also painted the throttle return springs original colors too.
So I'd say go OEM but spice it up a little! |

Ken - I bought the tv made ez kit from bowtie overdrive. Bolted right up to my 1406. It also comes with a longer (I believe) spring to put in the throttle valve on the tranny. No problems whatsoever.
