Exhaust Question's
OK, well i did some shopping around to day and this is what i came up with.
from manifold to y pipe- 200 y pipe to cat with high flow flowmaster cat - 200 cat to tips out the rear with single flowmaster 40 series after cat - 470 so in all from manifold to tips hes quoting me about 870. Is it just me or does that sound a little high? please give me some ideas im not for sure what i want so please tell me what youve done or are going to do. Second thing is what is the best kind of high flow cat? and what muffler should i get i like the 40 series sound is there any mufflers out there that are similar in sound?

mine isnt exactly legal. the exhaust i had on my 82 was a 2 1/2" true dual system with cherry bombs and headers. my 86 has 2 1/4" duals, with headers and 40 series flows. the system that is on the 86 is a Hooker Competition system that i think my buddy paid around $110 for, fully mandrel bent to fit a C10 LWB. that price is minus mufflers.

Sounds WAY too expensive. For my exhaust labor and pipe cost $125. I drove it up there with only headers on. They installed the X pipe and mufflers I brought up there. This is including the turndowns they supplied as well. I would look around for a cheaper price for sure. You might look at Summit for a complete setup and contact a tech school in your area about welding up the pipe. This can save you $$$ and give them experience.
On the mufflers I would go with Aerochambers. Much better sounding, flowing, and cheaper. When I get more things done that need more attention done on the truck I'm going to change out the exhaust to the Aerochambers and Ebay the Flowmasters.
