It's high strength steel. You can weld it, but you don't want to unless you get it heat-treated.

You can buy an adjustable pan hard bar from one of the venders. I don't think it is that expensive and it will make the fit much easier to achieve.

Yes for 4 inches or less... If you go 5 or more go with the whole tracking arm kit. If i could do it all over again I would have just bought the kit since i'm going to lower my rear more in the near future.

If you were to look from direcly behinde the truck (coil models only) there is a bar goinf grom the top of the diff to the frame. That is the panhard bar.

It really goes from the Rear end (Differential) to the frame. The pan hard bar goes from the drivers side of the frame to just about the center of the diff. The width way, not the length.

I lowered my truck 4" and installed an adjustable bar, from what I could tell there was very little difference compared to the old one, maybe 1/2" or less in length. If I had it to do over again I probably would not replace it and save a few bucks.

Yeah, just anything over 6" is when it needs it. I lengthened mine 1 & 1/4" over stock. But mine is bagged and probably 8 or 9" lower than stock.

That's right at the brink of a yes or no.
I say no.
Lower it then see how far it shifts over
