What driveshaft did you use?
I am not to this point yet, but the question has popped into my head.
Mine is going into a LWB 68. It will be a 5.3 with the 4L80 trans. Can I do a single driveshaft or does it have to be 2 piece? What driveshaft(s) did you use?

I had Houston Drivetrain build a new shaft for my '86 swb. 58-ish inches, $355 OTD with new u-joints. Not sure how long it would be for a LWB, but they said anything over 72" needed to be aluminum(for a 1 piece shaft). For mine, aluminum would have been $200 more.

Yup, I think 72" is the max for a one piece shaft. I wouldn't go over that even with aluminum.... Just my 2¢ worth.... LockDoc

Is custom the only way to go with this or are there production driveshafts that will work also?

I had my 2 piece cut down new ujoints and carrier bearing and had it balanced

When I had mine done they swapped it out for a 1 piece shaft.
I have a 71 LWB truck.

Nope they just took everything a part that the carrier attached to. Heres a couple more pictures. If I go any lower with it I'm sure I'll have to do some kind of moding to it though!
The rear end is up on jackstands so the shaft is higher when on the ground. I took thes while working on the rear disc brakes.

I converted to SWB and did a one piece, but I had a drive shaft made from Tatton's Drive Shaft. If I remember, it was $220 shipped with no yoke. $280 shipped if I needed a yoke. He was great. I'd buy from him again.
