Bellhousing Cross Member?
I know the bellhousing cross member was needed for 2WD trucks with 350 and 4-speed because there is no other cross member under the tranny. But on my 4WD Blazer, I have a cross member under the transfer case that supports the tranny as well. Did the 4WD trucks come with both the bellhousing cross member and transfer case cross member, or just the transfer case cross member?

Re: Bellhousing Cross Member?
kinda curious about that my self. my 68 k20 does not have the bell housig crossmember but my 72 c10 does. seems the bell housing crossmember interferes with the front drive shaft. seems it would add alot of strength too.

Re: Bellhousing Cross Member?
I don't have a vehicle with two cross members. I have a 4x4 Blazer that I am converting from auto to manual. It currently only has the transfer case cross member. I was wondering if I needed to add the bellhousing cross member when I install the manual tranny. All of my research has somewhat confirmed that the bellhousing cross member is only used on 2x4 manual trucks. It is not used on 4x4 manual trucks.
