CPP bent panhard bar
Got ready to put bar on and it hits on the diff cover. I have the deluxe bracket but it seems the driver side is too far forward do I have to relocate this. My truck is a 64.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
they should have told you or product should have said modifications would be or not be needed. You will need to call them Monday. Almost all there parts do not need modifications to install. Hope all works out.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
you probably have the same problem Im having, the shop who installed the bar in my truck didn't research and used a bar that goes on the stock location but once I go too low the bar hits the diff cover. what we need is the long bar that relocates to the trailing arm I believe poterbuilt has one for like 200 bucks. good luck

Thought I would get a pic of what I was talking about, where my hand is the side that touches the diff cover

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
Oh - well, that explains it.
I'm sure they couldn't account for that differential cover in their manufacturing process.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
The one that says fits 63-72 will not work on the 64. Unless CPP started making a bent bar for the 1964 The bracket on the frame is different. That bar only fits 65-72 without modifications.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
Bracket on the frame, please explain.
I'm hoping O'l Slow Build will discuss this when he installs it on his 64. Then I will buy one - or not.

Dano, what rear end do you have in your truck? Judging by the original panhard mount location on the diff it's at least a 65. You might have to go with a short adjustable panhard bar to that location instead of relocating to the trailing arm.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
is there any way to adapt the stock panhard bar to make this work, my diff is the same as this one with the stud mounted to the top right of the diff housing, my truck is a 66 c20 that is converted to a c10 with the 71 rear diff. I was wondering if there is a place to find a oscilating ball mount so I could weld one on so the bar doesn't have to be bent to mount in the stock location. My truck is a 66 btw.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
IIRC, the CPP bent style bar was made to clear a Ford 9" housing. It was not made originally to clear aftermarket diff covers for the stock 12 bolt. That said, most aftermarket panhard bars won't clear the diff covers that have the bearing cap supports, regardless of who make them.
Problem is not the bar, it's the diff cover.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
Can you show more pictures of the whole bar and brackets installed? It's kinda hard to tell what's going on from just one picture.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
Or you could change the diff cover and it will fit. Or not.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
How much are you having to push the bar? 1/2" or less, that is likely production variances.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
I took these pics of the bar where it wants to go, where the bracket is how much I have to push it in place but wont of diff cover. As you can see if I went this route it would miss the diff cover.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
I've already spoke with CPP about this issue and they agreed that it won't work.. The bent bar only works on 65-72 because the frame mount on the 63 and 64 are different. see above pictures. It may be hard to tell but the angles are different. I ended up giving mine to a buddy and ordered a Porter Built trac-bar. You can move the frame mount. Hope this helps

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
I've got that same panhard mount on my 68 3/4t longbed... looks like I'm going to have to relocate the bracket based on the feedback here.
