Throttle cable question...#2

The plastic cover on my throttle cable has split at the curve between the firewall, and the carb. Even though it doesn't stick, I can't stand the way it looks.

I don't want to replace it with something that might fail soon. Should I make another trip to the dealer, or will an aftermarket cable hold up?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Yeah, Scoti I think you are right. Then all I have to worry about is that great GM feeling...

Since you been cleaning up your engine capartment why not get some cool cables from Lokar. Like Mike said its all about the details.

Cole,

he's wanting to keep the resto look. Pretty cool, a resto truck on bags.

Cole's 87, I appreciate the heads up. I do have a Lokar cable on my Blazer, since it's all Hi-Tech.

Mike is correct. On this truck, I am trying to keep the resto look. Since it was restored when I bought it, I felt it was best to stick with that theme, and try to bring it up to my standards.

So far, I have contained my self, and limited my custom pieces to OEM style chrome valve covers, and a chrome breather lid on the stock breather.

I am close to getting things wrapped up. When I get finished, I'll get some pics. It won't be as pretty as Mikes though...
