Valve cover plug
There is a black rubber plug inserted in the top front of my right side valve cover. I've got a breather on the same comer toward the rear. I've noticed blow by, with oil collecting on the manifold and carb directly opposite the rubber plug. So, being the investigative genius that I am, I removed the rubber plug. It was just sitting there no pressure at all require3d. I wasn't aware that they came with different diameters. Now what to I do? This is not a screw in.

Re: Valve cover plug
which motor are you running? chances are there should be a pcv valve in that valve cover with a hose leading to the front of your carb

Re: Valve cover plug
whay year, presumably a v8, pictures.
the plug should be tight enough to stop a vacuum leak. if air passes past the plug you will have what seems to be carb adjustment, idle and other problems. replacements are available through auto parts stores, or if your going origonal mny vendors including sponsors on this site will carry them. It should not just sit ther in the hole and be all loose, |
