Help identify tubular control arms
got these from a friend who said they came from a 67 c10 he thinks. I guess the guy he got them from is on his death bed and has no information on them. please help me identify these control arms. not sure about the lower attaching point to the frame, because it's different then how my stock one bolts up. I also have the springs for this setup.not really sure what they are but they're supposed to be lowering springs for what he said.any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help identify tubular control arms
Every aftermarket tubular lower control arms I see have the classic U bolt attaching the control arm to the crossmember. It looks like these bolt directly to the crossmember. Any ideas who made these??? Look like they may fit a C10 The shock and stabilizer bar locations seem to be in the correct location.

Re: Help identify tubular control arms
They look like a set of old Chisholm Industries a-arms.
Look at theis old thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=370947 There are much better designs now. Those lowers require you to remove the a-arm saddles off of your crossmember. I think it's safer to use u-bolts than regular bolts to attach the lower a-arms.

Re: Help identify tubular control arms
I think you are correct. They look just like Chisholm Suspension control arms. Thank you so much!! I can get them next to nothing and wanted to lower my 1970 suburban anyways. This will drop the cost dramatically. I don't mind removing the saddles. Ill get hardened steel bolts and use some locktite. I don't think they will go anywhere. I could put a few welds in there as well. Now ill have to install them and the springs that came with them to figure out how much it will lower it. Think the control arms themselves lower it 2 inches. Add the springs and who knows how much. Then I will have to figure out how much ill have to lower the rear.

Re: Help identify tubular control arms
How does $200 for both sides upper and lower control arm and unknown pair of new springs? I think this sounds fair. They look like they have been mounted and then painted with new ball joints. Seem to be in really good shape!

Re: Help identify tubular control arms
Hey Lowlife99 if I decide to use these lower arms in the front with these lowering springs do I need new lowered shocks?

Re: Help identify tubular control arms
Probably. But I have know way of knowing.
Install a stock shock and see off you have enough travel.

Re: Help identify tubular control arms
I just removed a set of these Chrisholm control arms from my truck, the shock I had bolted right up to my replacement CPP tubular control arm. I sure wish I would have saved my money and just ran with the Chrisholm setup...

Re: Help identify tubular control arms
Lowlife what balljoint do you think is on these Chisholm control arms? 71 plus? Im going to try to run these on my 70 6 lug stock spindle. Is there any way to identify what balljoints these are by measuring it??
Just trying to have all the parts before I start ripping the suspension apart |

They could be 63-70, 71-72, or 73-87. Fitting them to a "known" spindle is the only way to find out.
