New Door Panels

OK, i ordered new door panels from LMC but have since decided that the reproduction ones are crap and am returning them. But i saw the oem ones from cheyenne and those look nice but you have to dye or paint them.

two things

Does anyone know where i can get good quality oem door panels in red?

and how hard is it to dye things. Do they turn out good or is it peel and look like crap?

I have had good luck dyeing/painting them and other parts, but it has always been either to freshen up the color on old ones or a slight color change. If you do dye them be sure to clean them very very very very good and don't even get them close to something like armorall before you paint them or you can forget about it sticking. You can use dawn soap or something like bug and tar remover to clean them

No more stock door panals at the dealer. Seems like we all need them. If you find a place that has NOS door panels, more people would like to know.

Are you SURE they are GM panels? The 73-80 style no longer exist from GM. Maybe the 81-91 panels are still available, but I was under the impression they weren't...

81-91 panels are available. They come a pale grayish blue and need to be dyed. I have two pairs I got this summer (before I can't...) I also have a set of NOS 80 High Sierra panels in that color for my Indy Hauler.

Wow! I wish we had a dealer parts department open here on sundays. It seems like you always need some part on the weekend and all of our GM parts stores close at noon on Saturday.
