Re: Kindig shaved doorhandles prices

Yeah the handles are expensive, but that's the entry fee to be in that caliber build and they do sell. I haven't seen anything else like them, but I'm sure something could be custom fabricated using an existing oem design for cheaper.

OEM isn't custom and custom isn't cheap.

I'm not really digg'n the style. I either like regular door handles, or just shave them flush. Just my opinion.

Re: Kindig shaved doorhandles prices

I agree, they fit in more with the high caliber build, but if you save little by little, good things come to those who wait. The previous owner sold me a truck with no door handles and a pop out system that does not pop out. If I take my time, I might afford those in a few months (I wish)

Check out 1969,70, & 71 Pontiac Grand Prix door handles. They would give the custom look for waaaaay less $$$. I have a pic somewhere of these on a 67-72 chevy truck but I can't find it at the moment. They look killer on our body style truck.

I thought $650 for a fair of handles was outrageous, then I saw them. Wow those are beautiful

Would these be considered a "frenched" door handle?Because they're not shaved, just sunk in right?Either way i think they are cool.

Welcome. I do have a picture somewhere of the GP handles on a truck. I think it's on my old computer. Will try to find and post it.

To me a "Frenched" door handle or antenna are recessed, not flush like these

Stacey David used them on GEARZ a year or so ago when he did the V8 Interceptor Cougar

I'm sure they are well made and everything, but I like regular door handles better.

Re: Kindig shaved doorhandles prices

To those who wanted to see the pics of 69-71 grand prix door handles on a truck, here are a couple. I apologize for not having a straight on picture of these but they are GP handles, I just didn't save the correct pics. Also note that they frenched in some Dodge Coronet/Super Bee marker lights too. Not good pics but gives you an idea of what they look like.

To the original poster, not trying to hijack your thread. Just want others to know there cheaper options. The kindigit's look awesome, I do agree.

Re: Kindig shaved doorhandles prices

Isn't it funny we are having a serious debate over $650 (non installed) door handles and we still have people who say $800 for a complete fleetside shortbed is way overpriced. I have heard some quote "for $1500 that truck better run on it's own power out of the field". I guess it's a regional thing. Some guys are still finding $500 short bed trucks. Or, that's the rumor anyhow.
As to these doorhandles, I dig em. I have seen em in person and they are way cool. Street rod quality. On an over the top truck they would look good. On my stuff I will stay with original door handles.

I agree. As for $500 short bed trucks go, I just bought a 71 GMC short wheel base "barn find" for $300. It's my daily driver's (LWB) "mini me". Complete truck minus the seat. It may get a set of the grand prix door handles that I was referring to in my other posts. I found the pics of that truck long before I bought the two I have now.

Also, if one breaks, you won't have to buy another $650 set of door handles
