Need some help on potential purchase - 1987 Chevy Crew
All,
I am looking at a truck locally that is a 1987 Chevy Crew Cab 1 Ton Dually with a 454 and manual transmission. It is a 3+3. It is super clean with only a small spot of rust on the rear fender. What would be a fair price for this truck? Guy is asking $2500 for it and I am thinking offer $1500 and go from there. |

I'd say $2500 is more than fair. They are pretty desirable and sought after. I paid $2500 for one that ran like crap and needs paint. No rust though.
Offering $1000 below asking price, I know I would personally be irritated. |

Depending on how bad the rocker rust is, I'd say that's not bad if the rest is in as good of shape as it sounds like. Rocker replacement on a CC is a little trickier since no one makes a full rocker set for them.

It has the 3 spd plus granny low transmission is a TBI engine. Is there anything to be concerned with powertrain wise other than 5mpg? |
