208 case parking brake
My current project has a 208 case. I am putting a Dennys driveshaft sle yoke on it. Has anyone got a source/plan on a budget parking brake that goes on the back of the 208 case? I'm kicking around using Harley Davidson caliper/rotor grafted on the yoke. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the 208 but these guys have a kit for the 205.There are lots of used Harley calipers available but I'm not sure if they would give you the pressure needed for a truck brake.

Re: 208 case parking brake
Thank for the link. I was thinking Harley stuff just cause of the size. I was thinking it might be low also even multiplying it x4 (4:10 rear axle). Good thing I'm still in the figguring stage.

Re: 208 case parking brake
Were you planning on keeping your e-brake on the rears as well? I have just figured out the cable routing and was hoping to get the original one working on our 70 k10. It came without the cables hooked up, but my 65 c10 had a great e-brake. There must be a way to get them functioning as intended...wishful thinking maybe...but at least with the kit in the link it stays mechanical, no slave cylinder or transfer arms to worry about. I would think they hook to the original cable.

Re: 208 case parking brake
I ditched the rear drum stuff. Ruff stuff brackets and front calipers clamping down on discs. I was thinking about caddy parking brake calipers, they never worked well on those cars either.
Ain't fabricating fun? |

Yes fabricating is a hoot. I usually take one step forward and 2 back. Then its off to NAPA to get more rod or wire...ps..I love the truck, is that a 52?
