72 k10 gearing help

What size gear are you guys running with 35in tires. I have a 383 stroker with a 350 turbo trans. It's not used for off-road just a pavement pounder.

Id say 3.73s. Good compromise for acceleration and highway speeds.

Re: 72 k10 gearing help

I would suggest 3.08, that is the combo I am going with but the difference is I will be going with 31's.

Or 4.11 I run 3.73s on my k5 with 33s and it does fairly well out on the highway I'm not sure how much power you would loose with 35s though my truck will run freeway speeds no problem and has good power down low

Re: 72 k10 gearing help

4.11's a re a great choice with 35's and a manual trans or tight converter. If you have a looser converter, consider 3.73. Or if you plan on some longer highway trips the 3.73 would also be a better choice.

Re: 72 k10 gearing help

^ I agree my truck will run 70mph down the freeway happily but I wouldn't want to go much faster for long trips but I usually stay within 60 miles so it occasionally sees 80 have seen 110 but I probably won't push it that far again haven't needed to go that fast for any reason since
