Airbag Installation - Trac bar?

I tried searching, so my apologies if this is covered somewhere.

I am installing bags on my 1963 C-10, and have everything installed in the rear besides the trac bar (stock frame, no notch).

I bought a CPP adjustable trac bar (6364DATB) from summit, and it came only with the bar. When the truck is completely aired out, the trac bar is about 3-4" too long, and the differential is only an inch or two the the side (meaning I don't think it'll fit at all even with the differential centered.

Did I screw up by cheaping out and getting just the bar? It seems the stock trac bar would be a better fit. I MIGHT be able to get it to fit if I took off the wheels, and lowered the rear end all the way, but even then I'm not sure if it'll work.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I also have the double. I'm thinking I'll try in the morning and try and get it on somehow some way and see what happens.

Do you happen to remember if it's as short as it goes or did you end up threading it out?

Re: Airbag Installation - Trac bar?

You may find that the long track bar like Early classics or performance online will work better for you. If you have several inches of suspension travel the short bar can move the rear a good bit depending on where it is in the arc. The long bar lessen this movement a good bit. You have to set the rear end in the center at ride height and deal with the position when aired out.
