61 Chevy

I'm brand new to this forum. Love what I see. I just bought this 61 c10. Plans are to put a LQ9 with a six speed, Lower and paint the factory colors. This is my first truck build. Truck has been sitting for twenty plus years in a field. Still has the original tires on it. Four speed with a 235 I6. I put a fuel filter, battery, battery cables, changed the oil and put new gas in it and it fired up. I'm am beyond excited to start this build. My wife is on board with me all the way so heaven help my bank account.

Re: 61 Chevy

I do have the inserts. The truck was 100% complete when I got it. I have just been taking stuff off to start to get the motor tranny out before it gets too cold. I was hoping to get power brakes on it before winter.
The bed and doors are in rough shape dent wise but no rust through, and the cab has gaping holes through it.

Re: 61 Chevy

Welcome from another first timer starting out on a '61! Great looking truck for sitting in a field, very jealous that you still have your "Chevrolet" grill insert. Good luck and keep those kids involved, small hands and fingers can be quite handy!

Re: 61 Chevy

I have found another grille insert. I didn't buy it because mine was in such good shape. I can look and see if the guy still has it if you want.

If you could connect me and him that would be great! Thanks
