My '85 C/10 junkyard rescue
I bought this 1985 SWB C/10 with only 83,000 miles on her from the junkyard for $1200. The trans wound not shift out of first, but it ran great. Body is pretty rusty, but heck it is a short bed. I fixed a vacuum line on the trans and now it runs and drives perfect.
Here she is as found.

Re: My '85 C/10 junkyard rescue
I invested another $500 and 40 plus hours into her to replace the rockers, cab corners, bed sides, and used rust free door. I also lowered it and replaced the rear bumper with one from a suburban bumper I had from another project.
I lowered the rear by cutting off the spring mounts on the axle and welding them back on the bottom side. A basic flip with all reused stock parts. Front is lowered with spindles and cut 1-ton springs. Here she sits now.

I have an LS2 6.0L for her. I need a bump in power. The 5.0L just isn't enough theses days.
