relocating fuel tank

I see I could buy a fuel tank for under the bed on my 71 c10. I dont like the filler through the bed,do they make a kit for the filler on the bed side?

You can get the tank with a side fill as opposed to a top fill. You would then have to figure out how to have access to it and probably fab up something like a filler door on the bedside like a newer truck or through a hinged running light or tail light.

I feel the same way. The marker fill is a bit better, but that's a narrow space to be filling through all the time. A few trucks I've seen have beautiful paint, and then scratches, chips and scuffs around the marker.

I like the camaro/chevelle tank because the filler is behind the license plate if you use a sport bumper.

I've also seen one in the bed rail. Clean, but still rough on the paint after awhile.

I have the Blazer/Suburban tank and my plan is to route the filler into the side of the floor and use a military 5-gallon can in the same corner to hide the neck. It would have to be permanently attached to the bed, while looking like it was just sitting there. Filling the tank would be done by removing the gas can lid to access the filler neck. It would hide the filler neck and not create any body work to make it happen. The other options for the tail light filler and later model gas door are nice, too.
