How much oil do I add ?
I have a 350 and I don't know what year the engine is, could be an 86. Chilton's says 85-86 is 7qt All others are 5qt. Dip-stick is damaged so that is not a good indicator. Is there an oil pan measurement which I can use or any other way I can tell. Have run it on 5qt. a few 100 miles. Will put in a new dip-stick but have to know if it is calibrated correctly. Thank You.

Re: How much oil do I add ?
Most 350's hold 5 quarts. If the motor is stock it holds 5 quarts.

I know what you mean, and Chilton's is just plain wrong on that. They really f*cked me up one time when I used that capacity spec. 350's take 5 quarts of oil. |
