bed removal wiring disconnect on 66
Hello have all my bolts undone on my 66 fleet, and unsure exactly how to disconnect rear wiring. I want to remove the bed to install a rear gas tank and new wood, and this is my first bed removal. I'm just not warm and fuzzy about the wiring disconnection part? Also, does the ignition switch ground through the metal dash on my '66? THANK YOU!

Re: bed removal wiring disconnect on 66
Hey banjo I just did my first bed removal on my 64 last night. The wiring on my truck runs up the driver frame rail and is simply disconnected at the connector right next to the driver rear tail light. After that is disconnected and the bolts are all loose, the bed can be lifed off

Re: bed removal wiring disconnect on 66
Look right at the end of the drivers side frame rail and where the rear crossmember is mounted. There will be a rubber plug on the end of the wiring pushed into a hole in the cross member if the wiring harness is stock. Will be very close to where the bolt comes through the rear bed sill.
