Emergency brake / headlight on buzzer

I'm curious if anyone has adapted a warning buzzer to these trucks for the e-brake and headlight ? I have driven away more than once with the brake still on, and also left the lights on by accident. Our truck is a 70 K10 with sm465.

Re: Emergency brake / headlight on buzzer

When I was growing up, you could buy a kit at WalMart for a headlight buzzer. It plugged into the fuse box a few places and had a ground. Here is one from Summit in a kit

or a do it yourself instruction

For E-brake, you could add something pretty easily. Just use ignition hot and a pin switch on the E-brake for ground.

Re: Emergency brake / headlight on buzzer

Thank you for the links, the headlight warning seems fairly basic. I thought about rigging something up , for the e-brake, but I hoped someone had done this, and had a thread already. I looked all over and came up with nothing. If we get time to fab something that works, I will show the procedure we use. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. This site is golden...Cheers Rick

Re: Emergency brake / headlight on buzzer

Its been about 8 years since I did mine but I got the brake switch from a 80's truck and wired it to the dash light. My headlights are wired to a automatic switch that turns them off 30 sec after truck is shut off.

Thanks, I like that idea, most newer vehicles have something similar. This truck will be my sons first, so I would rather not have to drive 20 miles into the booneys to jump start him and his friends.
