Quick Door Hinge Pin Question...

On our door hinge pins..the repair kit comes with 4 pins and 4 bushings...can someone explain where the bushings go? Because I did this repair a few years ago, and the pins have NEVER stayed in, they back out WEEKLY! Thanks guys.

The bushings go in the hinge........this is what the pin rides on.
My last repair to my hinges resulted in the pin trying to work out too. The factory staked the pin in on the production line but we can't do that.
A few minutes with a mig welding machine fixed it. I just put a big bead on the pin to keep it in there.
Before I get slammed I will state that I can remove the pin if I have to even with it welded in.

That's EXACTLY what my gf's dad said he'll do to fix it for me. But I wanna see if there's any OTHER ways of fixing this...

When you replace the pins, replace the bushing at the same time. It will make a huge difference in the slack in the door.

You can drill a small hole at the end of the pin before you install it. After you put it in, a cotter pin slid through the hole will prevent the pin from backing out.

Welding it will work, but if you ever need to take it out, getting to the weld to grind it off won't be easy...

I DID put the bushings in...my question was, what order do they go in? Also, I like the cotter pin idea...I'll prolly pull the pins out today and drill the pins for cotter pins.
