Need a guinea pig for '60-'62 front sway bar testing

Yup... I got THIIIIIIS close to having a bolt-on front sway bar for '60-'62 Chevy trucks developed... had a prototype built, drove it around for a year, found it juuuust barely rubbed at full-lock going around corners with a bump in them, had a second prototype made... and then hit a 180-pound 8pt buck.

Other project cars have gotten pushed forward, while the Suburban sits in a friend's pasture waiting for a new front end.

So, I'm looking for someone with a '60-'62 Chevy (or GMC) truck, with stock Torsion Bar front suspension, that'd like a sway bar on the front of their truck.

The front suspension needs to be rebuilt recently (I've got a pretty broad definition of "recently." Basically, it can't be worn out and loose... tight ball joints, a-arm bushings, etc.)

Stock ride height, or lowered a couple inches with the t-bars cranked down.

Must have 15-inch wheels, factory or aftermarket. (I have 15x7 5-slots up front, and the tire juuust kissed the sway bar as described above. So deep negative-offset wheels won't work for purposes of evaluation. I want to make sure it clears the broadest spectrum of users.

And most importantly, I need someone who DRIVES their truck. A lot.

If you're interested, send me an email (NOT a PM here) to "brad56@windstream.net"
I'll need to see pics of your truck as it sits, and pics of the stock front suspension.

Brad I am in the middle of 3 different builds plus a regular job, but if you don't get somebody within about a month I will email you. The good thing is I can actually drive my truck to you.

I may not have been clear, but I'll ship the bar anywhere, on my dime.

Re: Need a guinea pig for '60-'62 front sway bar testing

Brad,

I'm in the process of re wiring my '60 as we speak but I'd gladly do a good run for you.

I'm running 255/70R15s on stock suspension.
Would you like me to email you when I'm getting a bit closer? I'll also be hauling a camper here and there too so you could get a broad spectrum of use.

EDIT: Just realized you said "truck" I've actually got a burb. Don't know if that helps you at all.

Re: Need a guinea pig for '60-'62 front sway bar testing

We are putting in the seats on my youngest sons stock suspension 1962 c10 this weekend. Then it is a driver. He is excited to have it drivable except paint. We are in So Cal. Let us know if you are still looking for a guinea pig.

Re: Need a guinea pig for '60-'62 front sway bar testing

I am currently working on my truck and it is about to be ready. It is a 62 and has 15 inch rims and is sitting a little higher in the front because the 350 I swapped for the inline 6 was a whole lot lighter. I am interested because I was wanting to put a sway bar on already so I am willing to guinea pig for ya once my truck is driving
