1966 Headlight Relays
Need a mini overview of the need for headlight relays when updating to halogen bulbs......Have noticed a wide variety of units at vehicle shows.....some provide MFG logos and specs....others are black mini boxes with no spes's.....what brand is recommended ? Source for units....Suggested diagrams for bright/low mode? Thanks in advance.......

Re: 1966 Headlight Relays
Here's a thread I did on my 1960 GMC. Nothing fancy, I just used generic parts which have worked fine:

Re: 1966 Headlight Relays
In my opinion you should run relays no matter what kind of headlights you run. Full 12 volts of power to the lights. Use the light switch as a "trigger" only to open the relays. Much brighter lights. IMO

Re: 1966 Headlight Relays
are you talking about the relay itself? Just go to any local auto parts store and look for a 4 pin Bosch relay.
It should look like this, but may have 5 pins.
