Freight companies

Has anyone shipped an engine or tranny by freight company? Who is the most ecenomical?

If you start calling around you will find them all to be really high and pretty close to the same price. If you can find anyone that can ship it from where they work, you'll be looking at a 60-70% discount.

I had a CH465 tranny shipped from Akron, NY to Wichita, KS a couple years ago and it cost $167.00 from dock to dock. The carrier that it came in on was Price Trucking, not sure of which trucking company it started with in New York.

I shipped a rear end with ABF from FL to NH it was around $90.
It was shipped by it self not on a pallet and not created or boxed. Just had to drain the oil.
