Re: 292 exhaust/intake leak
Your gonna get a hundred different answers, but here's my reasons.
Pros to Clifford: Larger manifold than stock, smother air flow through the manifold. Water heating system is made Much better. Also you can mount your carb how you please. Cons: You cannot use the stock exhaust manifold with the clifford intake. And it is very expensive compared to when I purchased it. Pros to the offy: Half the price of a clifford. Will work with a stock exhaust manifold. Cons: You can only mount the carb with the primaries inboard or outboard. The water heating system is hard to hook up. Also has been known to leak over time. The manifold is small and square. Anyone who has owned the clifford intake has never complained to me about it. But I Have gotten complaints about the offy. All in all both are good intakes and it really is up to You which one you want.

Re: 292 exhaust/intake leak
He means how the carb sits.
Offy turns it sideways. Clifford one sits the normal way. Since the offy turns your carb sideways, you have fun hooking up the throttle. |

Re: 292 exhaust/intake leak
The water system on the offy has smaller ports so hooking up the water system is more difficult. On the clifford the ports are larger so all you have to do is purchase some heater hose and re-rout the lines. Primaries Inboard means the primaries are facing the valve cover and Outboard means the secondaries are facing the valve cover. Both ways putting the throttle linkage in bad spots. Nothing that a throttle cable conversion can't fix. But with the clifford you can aim the carb the Normal way(primaries facing the front of the truck) and the throttle linkage is in a better spot. Still, a cable system is the simplest remedy.

Re: 292 exhaust/intake leak
You might review Inliners.org, it's all been discussed and dyno tested there.
I chose to go Offy, I think it is more streetable than the Clifford. And Tom Langdons cast split header is a wonderful piece. DO RUN WATER HEATING TO THE INTAKE.
