Tire Questions. Pics?
Looking for an aggressive tire for mud and snow. I hunt and live on a farm. It also snows where I live so I encounter less than favorable road conditions fairly often. right now I have smooth highway style tires. They are 225/75/r15. I mostly use this truck as a farm truck and back and forth from town truck(15 miles). so id also like them to be somewhat tame while on the highway. I found these tires on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-New-30x9-5...RV05N2&vxp=mtr Federal is a trusted brand ive used before. however I'm new to these trucks and was wondering what you guys run. Pics? Recommendations? Thanks, chefk85 |

Re: Tire Questions. Pics?
Those ebay mudders you linked should be great on the farm, but lousy on the highway. Everything is a compromise so the better it works on the road, the worse it will be in mud & snow.
That tire size isn't too common. If you bump up slightly to 235/75-15, there's a much greater selection to choose from. Something like the BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2 or the more affordable General Grabber AT 2 might be a good choice for your conditions. BFG All-Terrain: ![]() General Grabber AT 2: ![]() If neither of those is aggressive enough for you, there are other mud tires that might be better on the highway than those Federals. Such as Firestone Destination M/T: ![]()

Re: Tire Questions. Pics?
I have the BFG All Terrain T/A KO'S on my 1994 K1500 Burb. They are great all around tire and should work great for you with the driving habits you have described. I always buy used ones with about 75/80% tread remaining and you can get them for half of what new ones cost.

Re: Tire Questions. Pics?
I second the suggestions above for the BFG All Terrain T/A KO'S. I had 30X9.5R15s on my 97 Jeep Wrangler and currently have 31X10.50R15s on my 01 Wrangler. A HUGE improvement over the crappy OE tires. I'd go as big as you can without exceeding the recommended width for your wheels.

Re: Tire Questions. Pics?
I like those 3 tires as well - the BFGs are my favorites. Another option, if you can find them in your area are Cooper Discovery - they aren't as aggressive off-road, but good compromise tire between on/off.

Re: Tire Questions. Pics?
I have these on my daily driver and i love them, they are an All Terrain tire so not sure how well they stack up in off road situations, But they hook up well on the street and wear great too.
http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/de...olandar_a_t_s# They do have the M/T tire as well. Reading the reviews and knowing how much i like the A/T's i would not hesitate to give them a try. http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/de...andar_m_t_plus I have the BFG's on my K20, there a good tire but the sidewall flexes a bit and they are known to wear fairly quickly, but i needed another set of 16.5's and was able to snag one of the last sets so i got them.

Re: Tire Questions. Pics?
I had the General Grabber At2s on my Silverado. I loved them and they did great on and off road. Quiet on road. Much cheaper than the BFGs too. They had over 40k on them when I sold the truck with plenty of tread left
