I'm rebuilding a 350 that I am planning on selling later on, it is high torque, low RPM style engine, and I am planning on selling a standard transmission with it (in really good condition, no need to rebuild it) Not exactly 100% sure what type of transmission, it came with the 76 truck. The engine is for a workhorse style of truck.

How much do you figure I can get for the engine and transmission?

No more than $800 for the rebuilt motor. A base GM 350 crate motor is only $1,300!

Pays for my paint job and a couple dozen cans of engine degreacer...

lol, I'm painting the truck myself, we'll see how it turns out, if it looks like crap, then I am gonna be doing some fundraising and getting it painted professionally

What kind of rebuild are you talking about? Is it going to need machine work and new pistons? If so its going to cost you 800 bucks to rebuildit. If you can just re-ring it and hone the cylinders and replace the cam, lifters and such and the heads just need some seals, then your good. But remember if it needs machine work your going to spend 800+ just rebuilding it probably.

It doesn't need any machine work fortunately

It ran perfectly before the truck was parked a couple years back, no oil leaks or black smoke from it. Chances are all it needs is a good cleaning, painting and some new gaskets. I'm only taking it apart to make sure that there isn't anything mechanically wrong, and to make sure that everything is nice and clean. Its been sitting for probally 15 - 20 years now so there is bound to be some oil junk plogging something...
