Two-Tone '69 Cheyenne Bucket Seats?

My son Chad, (CC69Rat) located a nice set of original '69 Cheyenne buckets over the weekend and I picked them up for him today. The seats were removed in the late '70s from the owner's original truck and stored in the basement for all these years. He said that the covers were original.

After a little cleaning I noticed that the seats are two-tone Aqua and Dark Green. I'm no expert on interior colors, but this is the first set I have ever seen with this combination. The piping is dark green as well.

As you can see in the photos, the lower portions and back of the seats are Dark Green. The inserts are a really pretty Aqua Green/Blue. I imagine this was a beautiful interior when new.

I just need a little input from the experts. Thanks!

Re: Two-Tone '69 Cheyenne Bucket Seats?

Not sure about buckets but they immediately reminded me of the bench seat in 72BlckButy's 1969 CST BLANK SLATE. Maybe they used the same materials for that color of interior regardless of buckets or bench.

Hey Chris, I think you are right. Man, your interior colors are awesome and I love your truck. Are your seats original? What color code and designation appears on your SPID?

Thanks.

Oh no. I can't take credit for that beautiful truck. It belongs to member 72BlckButy. Here's a link to his thread on the truck http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=353633. I can't remember if he has a photo of the SPID but I'm sure he would respond to a PM if he's still around.

Pretty sure it's a 69' only thing with two different vinyl colors. I have a blue bench like that. Trevor

I love them just like that! I would personally leave them alone, someone building a patina style truck would run them like that, once you buy the covers and pay the upholster (more money out of your pocket ) ... then the potential buyer says "it's the wrong color" or " I don't like the material" lol.... sell as is!

Re: Two-Tone '69 Cheyenne Bucket Seats?

We'll get some good pictures pulled together and list them in the parts section. We will be selling the seats with a fixed passenger bracket set (no drivers bracket.. I just don't have them at the moment) and console as a set. Pop, I'll get with you on it and figure out how you want to do it.

Re: Two-Tone '69 Cheyenne Bucket Seats?

Not sure of your intent w/those seats, but a good upholstery shop can redo the damaged/worn areas for you and replace the bad material. I have a 70 GMC w/the aqua bench and my upholstery man, Troy, in Duncan, OK did his magic; fixed the holes, replaced some foam and replaced some vinyl similar to where yours is worn. It looks fantastic and saved a boatload of $$; a new bench cover is $250, new upper/lower seat foams are what, $500? I say all of that because it's difficult to find any interior parts that are aqua in color.

Re: Two-Tone '69 Cheyenne Bucket Seats?

A friend of mine pulled buckets out of a 69 truck that were black with white . The white was where your butt and back touch the seat. They were factory looking with the correct pattern. I'm pretty sure he still has them. The buckets were listed on the SPID.
