got a new job finally
this morning i went out to the local salvage yard to pick up some parts for my truck and as i was talking to the guy i asked him if they needed any extra help around the yard and he said yes, so he asked me a few questions and then he said i had 1 hour to go get my tools and change clothes if i wanted the job, so i got my job and i Love it, though some of the cars i have to tear into i dont want to, like the 65 4door hardtop impala today. but i am doing my job, this yard also has a whole row of our trucks, thought most of the inards are gone, but there are some decent body panels and 1 tow truck, but i like my job i am not makeing much but for a 19 year old going to college money is money, oh and i might be getting another truck it is a 72 c/20 that i plan to buy so i can drive it while tearing into my truck.

Congratulations on the new job. Sounds kind of like a love/hate type of job. It's got to be sad to see some of the classics go to the crusher.

good score on the job man, now you will have more fuses and bulbs then you can shake a stick at, also make sure you grab all the change possible and use it to buy lunch or at least a bag of chips, HINT back seats are a giant cache for spare change, tools and some other disgusting stuff

I used to do that for a living and it was great!!! It was a job you could always take your frustration out at . And the knowledge you gain by wrecking out numerous different types of vehicles is incredible. I would have kept at it but the pay wasn't enough to support a family on. But if I ever won enough cash in the lottery to be debt free, I would go back to wrecking in a heartbeat. Up here we don't wreck out to many old vehicles. The money is in newer ones where the parts turnover is quick and high dollars. Almost all of the older stuff is still whole and sitting in the yard waiting for someone to buy and restore them.
Congrats on the new job bud, you'll love it I'm sure

Great find in getting a job like that. When I was younger (way back when) I always wanted a job like that. Great source for parts and knowledge. First pick on the 67-72 truck parts, and whatever else trips your trigger. Also, when you tear something apart, given enough time and examples you can usually figure out how it goes back together. Good Luck and watch for the "good stuff" when it comes in !

excellent, a new job that combines your interests with making money and getting a hot lunch everyday. You can't beat that combo.

Congrats on the job!!! I would love to rip apart cars
for money, instead of ripping mine apart, and it costing me money!! Does this mean we have an inside track to parts??/ Ha!
