Clutch pedal stop

Starting to clean up a few parts and noticed that the clutch pedal stop on my truck is bent and the metal is torn. Looks like the pedal isn't even resting against the rubber but next to it.

To clarify, this is part of the bracket that bolts under the steering column and has a rubber stop to keep the clutch pedal from coming up too far. On the right side of the first picture.

Does anyone have a pic of what this area should look like so I can repair it?
Thanks!

Re: Clutch pedal stop

I have a couple of those brackets. I'll get a pic in the morning.

Re: Clutch pedal stop

Thanks for the pictures. I can't see the pedal causing that damage. Maybe someone pried it open for some reason. Probably better off finding another one instead of trying to repair it. I'll see what I can do with it.

Re: Clutch pedal stop

I have a few of these and the first one I grabbed was cracked. Crack starts at the corner of the bend and runs about a 1/4". They may crack when made and the crack runs over time. You are also missing part of the pad.

Re: Clutch pedal stop

I didn't notice the pad... good eye. I guess that explains why the pedal wasn't touching it. I just figured the bracket was bent too far out from being cracked.

Re: Clutch pedal stop

Common issue to find them bent back towards the seat or cracked as your was. Normally the biggest factor I've seen in the pedal being to far off the floor.

Install good rubber bumper and make sure the bracket ear is in the correct position if bent.

Re: Clutch pedal stop

I'd say bend her back and weld and a new rubber stop and it should be good to go...

Re: Clutch pedal stop

I'm gonna give it a shot. Can't make it any worse than it is.
